Location: United States

I'm also a usually quiet, reserved Lady, who enjoys books, tea, baking, and movies! I spend most of my time reading one of my favorite books or wishing I was reading my favorite books. My Grand Passion is history, particularly the Regency Period in England, when Jane Austen wrote, Lord Nelson defeated the French Fleet at Trafalgar, the Duke of Wellington defeated Napoleon, and men were Gentlemen and women Ladies. I cherish the thought of being a Lady and love manners, being proper, and having proper tea. My favorite tea is Twinings, especially Earl Grey or Prince of Wales. My specialty to make is Scones with Devon Cream. I am a Catholic and a Conservative.

Mexico May Go To The UN To Challenge Border Fence

Crossposted from Red Hot Cuppa Politics:

So, looks like Mexico's thinking of going to the UN with their own border problem. That is - they might go to the UN to try to keep the US from building a fence. From the AP:
MEXICO CITY: Mexico says it may go to the United Nations to challenge US plans to build hundreds of kilometres of fences on its southern border. The Foreign Secretary, Luis Ernesto Derbez, said the plan was offensive. Asked if he would take up the issue with the UN, a step some Mexican politicians have called for, Mr Derbez replied: "Without a doubt, we are examining, with the foreign relations legal team, what options are open at an international level and we will take them." The US President, George Bush, yesterday signed a homeland security funding bill that includes $US1.2 billion ($1.6 billion) for fencing along the US-Mexico border to stop illegal immigrants and criminals sneaking over.
I actually don't consider that a threat. Because the only thing that is sillier than our current border policy is any expectation that the UN is capable of actually doing anything.
