I'm also a usually quiet, reserved Lady, who enjoys books, tea, baking, and movies! I spend most of my time reading one of my favorite books or wishing I was reading my favorite books. My Grand Passion is history, particularly the Regency Period in England, when Jane Austen wrote, Lord Nelson defeated the French Fleet at Trafalgar, the Duke of Wellington defeated Napoleon, and men were Gentlemen and women Ladies. I cherish the thought of being a Lady and love manners, being proper, and having proper tea. My favorite tea is Twinings, especially Earl Grey or Prince of Wales. My specialty to make is Scones with Devon Cream. I am a Catholic and a Conservative.

D-Day

I really haven't the energy to do any research or find many links on D-Day today, but I cannot let it pass without a mention.

Sixty-two years ago today, thousands of courageous and heroic men stormed the beaches of Normandy, France. Their actions helped liberate millions of people across Nazi-controlled Europe. We must never forget all that they did for us.

Thank you. God bless you.

More here and here.

Hot Air has some great links.

On a humourous note (well, really, but also sad because it is true), the Nihilist in Golf Pants has a list of Top 11 Things That Anti-War Protesters Would Have Said At the Normandy Invasion on D-Day (Had There Been Anti-War Protesters At Normandy) .
