A Lady's Ruminations

I'm also a usually quiet, reserved Lady, who enjoys books, tea, baking, and movies! I spend most of my time reading one of my favorite books or wishing I was reading my favorite books. My Grand Passion is history, particularly the Regency Period in England, when Jane Austen wrote, Lord Nelson defeated the French Fleet at Trafalgar, the Duke of Wellington defeated Napoleon, and men were Gentlemen and women Ladies. I cherish the thought of being a Lady and love manners, being proper, and having proper tea. My favorite tea is Twinings, especially Earl Grey or Prince of Wales. My specialty to make is Scones with Devon Cream. I am a Catholic and a Conservative.

"Not everybody's such a fan."

Apparently Jim Geraghty, who is currently in Turkey, has received some e-mail responses to the column I linked to in the previous post. He usually writes the Kerry Spot aka TKS on NRO and he posted this earlier:

FINALLY! MY VERY OWN DEATH THREAT!

The reaction to this piece has been amazing. Thanks to all who have written in - I wondered if it was a bit raw or too angry for the moment, but it looks like I struck a chord.

Of course, not everybody's such a fan. From Aimee in Houston:

Stay in Turkey, because if you EVER return and I am introduced to you, I will put a bullet in your forehead and then spit on your body.
I love you too, schmoopie.
