I'm also a usually quiet, reserved Lady, who enjoys books, tea, baking, and movies! I spend most of my time reading one of my favorite books or wishing I was reading my favorite books. My Grand Passion is history, particularly the Regency Period in England, when Jane Austen wrote, Lord Nelson defeated the French Fleet at Trafalgar, the Duke of Wellington defeated Napoleon, and men were Gentlemen and women Ladies. I cherish the thought of being a Lady and love manners, being proper, and having proper tea. My favorite tea is Twinings, especially Earl Grey or Prince of Wales. My specialty to make is Scones with Devon Cream. I am a Catholic and a Conservative.

John Kerry is THE Idiot

According to a new Heritage Foundation study, our troops are brainiacs!

Apparently the only ones who don't know that reside on the LEFT.

Of course, the MSM is only too happy to spin for him.Kerry himself gave a Blame the Republicans statement today. He's so brilliant dim-witted. Remember his grades?

John McCain wants JFK to apologize to the troops. So does Senator David Vitter (very strong letter to Kerry!).

Oh, and to add insult to injury, Kerry tried to spin that he was talking about President Bush, not the troops. The only people stupid enough to fall for that lie are Lefties (but, as John is a Leftie, he apparently fell for it himself).

At a hastily arranged news conference in Seattle, Kerry said: "I apologize to no one for my criticism of the president and of his broken policy."

Kerry said the comment in question was "a botched joke about the president and the president's people, not about the troops ... and they know that's what I was talking about."

A Kerry spokeswoman, Amy Brundage, said Kerry's prepared text had called for him to say: "Do you know where you end up if you don't study, if you aren't smart, if you're intellectually lazy? You end up getting us stuck in a war in Iraq. Just ask President Bush."

Kerry's remarks came during a campaign rally for California Democratic gubernatorial candidate Phil Angelides. Kerry opened his speech at Pasadena City College with several one-liners, saying at one point that Bush had lived in Texas but now "lives in a state of denial."

He then said: "You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."

That, Kerry said, was meant as a reference to Bush, not troops. Kerry said it is the president who owes U.S. soldiers an apology — for "a Katrina foreign policy" that misled the country into war in Iraq, failed to adequately study and plan for the aftermath, has not properly equipped troops and has expanded the terrorist threat.
Kerry was visiting my rotten state today, to raise money for worthless non-Senator Maria Cantwell. Nominal Republican candidate for Senate Mike McGavick had a good point:

"I'll go ahead and make this crystal clear since Sen. Kerry didn't. Senator Kerry owes our forces an apology, and Washingtonians deserve a comment from their incumbent senator, Maria Cantwell.

"Instead of simply apologizing today, Sen. Kerry chose to defend his comment as a botched joke and then proceeded to raise money for Sen. Cantwell. Who in their right mind makes a joke about our forces in Iraq?

"Sen. Cantwell is Sen. Kerry's host in our state. She has evaded comment time and time again in this campaign. Not this time. Senator Cantwell owes Washington's veterans and soldiers an explanation. She has taken Sen. Kerry's money. Does she also accept his comments?"
I would also like to know where Maria Cantwell has been for six years, but that's another post.

Luckily, we have a President who knows that our troops are brilliant, brave, and fantastic.

Here's what President Bush (Our Commander-in-Chief, thank God) at a fundraiser today:

In the midst of a heated campaign season, there are some things we should all be able to agree on, and one of the most important is that every one of our troops deserves our respect and our gratitude. (Applause.)

Yesterday, my opponent in 2004 presidential race, Senator Kerry, was speaking to a group of young people in California.

AUDIENCE: Booo!

THE PRESIDENT: I want you to listen to what he said. He said: you know education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well; if you don't, you get stuck in Iraq.

AUDIENCE: Booo!

THE PRESIDENT: The Senator's suggestion that the men and women of our military are somehow uneducated is insulting and it is shameful. (Applause.) The members of the United States military are plenty smart, and they are plenty brave, and the Senator from Massachusetts owes them an apology. (Applause.)

Whatever party you're in, in America, our troops deserve the full support of our government.
Amen.

John Kerry insults our troops. President George W. Bush defends our troops. The MSM acts like each man called the other a "poopyhead" or something.

AP: White House, Kerry exchange accusations---

WASHINGTON - The White House and Sen. John Kerry traded their harshest accusations since the 2004 presidential race on Tuesday, with President Bush accusing the Democrat of troop-bashing and Kerry calling the president's men hacks who are "willing to lie."
Hmmm, I don't see any accusations from President Bush. He called a spade a spade. John Kerry called our troops stupid---uneducated. I would definitely call that "troop-bashing," wouldn't you?

You can help show our troops that we support them. Donate to Project Valour-IT.

According to the website:

Every cent raised for Project Valour-IT goes directly to the purchase and shipment of voice-activated laptops for wounded servicemembers. As of October 2006, Valour-IT has distributed nearly 600 laptops to severely wounded Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines across the country.

During its initial phase, Valour-IT created "libraries" of laptops equipped with voice-controlled software for the severely wounded staying at major military medical centers. In many cases a laptop was provided to a wounded hero for permanent use.

Valour-IT is continuing to accept donations of any amount to supply the "libraries" of laptops at major medical centers and gifts to individuals, but has also added the option of an individual or organization directly sponsoring a wounded soldier by completely funding the cost of a laptop and continuing to provide him or her with personal support and encouragement throughout recovery.
A worthy cause indeed.
