A Lady's Ruminations

"Jane was firm where she felt herself to be right." -Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice

Location: United States

I'm also a usually quiet, reserved Lady, who enjoys books, tea, baking, and movies! I spend most of my time reading one of my favorite books or wishing I was reading my favorite books. My Grand Passion is history, particularly the Regency Period in England, when Jane Austen wrote, Lord Nelson defeated the French Fleet at Trafalgar, the Duke of Wellington defeated Napoleon, and men were Gentlemen and women Ladies. I cherish the thought of being a Lady and love manners, being proper, and having proper tea. My favorite tea is Twinings, especially Earl Grey or Prince of Wales. My specialty to make is Scones with Devon Cream. I am a Catholic and a Conservative.

ThanksUSA

This seems a worthy organization. Please visit!

ThanksUSA:

ThanksUSA is non-partisan, non-profit 501(c)(3) effort to mobilize Americans of all ages to "thank" the men and women of the United States armed forces.

To accomplish this, we are providing college scholarships of up to $5,000 per year for the children and spouses of our troops. We're also offering a national treasure hunt to raise awareness and funds for the scholarship program in an educational way. The "hunt" will debut on May 29, 2006, and family oriented prizes for each of the 12 stages will include a vacation to Universal Studios and Disney World in Orlando, FL, a visit to the pyramids in Egypt and a trip to the 2007 Super Bowl -- so sign up now!

ThanksUSA's mission is part of a national movement to "thank" the troops and one way you can participate is by making a donation. Scholarships are funded by a combination of federal, corporate and individual tax-deductible contributions.
We owe so much to our troops. This is a great way to give back!
