Location: United States

I'm also a usually quiet, reserved Lady, who enjoys books, tea, baking, and movies! I spend most of my time reading one of my favorite books or wishing I was reading my favorite books. My Grand Passion is history, particularly the Regency Period in England, when Jane Austen wrote, Lord Nelson defeated the French Fleet at Trafalgar, the Duke of Wellington defeated Napoleon, and men were Gentlemen and women Ladies. I cherish the thought of being a Lady and love manners, being proper, and having proper tea. My favorite tea is Twinings, especially Earl Grey or Prince of Wales. My specialty to make is Scones with Devon Cream. I am a Catholic and a Conservative.

Miers on Judicial Activism

The Smoking Gun has Harriet Miers' Senate Judiciary Questionaire up. You can read it over here.

At one point, Miers answers that she declined to be considered for Sandra O'Conner's seat when O'Conner first announced her retirement. Too bad she didn't stick with that answer.

Miers also explained her views on "judicial activism." She says courts are not supposed to be policy-makers and that the judiciary has a limited role. Her answer for this question covers 3 pages. I suggest reading it.

These certainly aren't the types of answers that Liberals will approve of, but still not enough for me to change my mind. Not that my opinion really matters.
