Location: United States

I'm also a usually quiet, reserved Lady, who enjoys books, tea, baking, and movies! I spend most of my time reading one of my favorite books or wishing I was reading my favorite books. My Grand Passion is history, particularly the Regency Period in England, when Jane Austen wrote, Lord Nelson defeated the French Fleet at Trafalgar, the Duke of Wellington defeated Napoleon, and men were Gentlemen and women Ladies. I cherish the thought of being a Lady and love manners, being proper, and having proper tea. My favorite tea is Twinings, especially Earl Grey or Prince of Wales. My specialty to make is Scones with Devon Cream. I am a Catholic and a Conservative.

Quote of the Day

I'm not that big of a George Pataki fan, but I like this quote:

When government accepts responsibility for people, then people no longer take responsibility for themselves.
I wish we could put it on a billboard outside the windows of the Oval Office, so that President Bush could see it. He seems to have forgotten that Conservatives are supposed to be the party of small government.

New Orleans is a complete mess after two hurricanes because the government has accepted responsibility for the people there. The people no longer take responsibility for themselves.

And since that government so long ago usurped the people's responsibilities, it had a duty to take care of the people. But it failed.

People need to start taking responsibility for themselves.
