I'm also a usually quiet, reserved Lady, who enjoys books, tea, baking, and movies! I spend most of my time reading one of my favorite books or wishing I was reading my favorite books. My Grand Passion is history, particularly the Regency Period in England, when Jane Austen wrote, Lord Nelson defeated the French Fleet at Trafalgar, the Duke of Wellington defeated Napoleon, and men were Gentlemen and women Ladies. I cherish the thought of being a Lady and love manners, being proper, and having proper tea. My favorite tea is Twinings, especially Earl Grey or Prince of Wales. My specialty to make is Scones with Devon Cream. I am a Catholic and a Conservative.

Arogrant Fools and Liars

IMDB.com: Clooney Vows To Keep Quiet About Politics---

Ocean's Eleven star George Clooney is urging his fellow Hollywood stars to keep quiet when it comes to politics, because he fears celebrity endorsements could wreck their favorite candidates' chances of victory. Democrat Clooney and a number of screen stars have recently come under attack for voicing their political views. And the actor, whose father Nick Clooney was recently defeated in his bid to be elected the congressional representative for Kentucky, has now vowed to be a lot more politically low-key.
Hey, keep talking, George and Friends. Obviously, you have the right to free speech. But with actions come consequences. We object to blatant hostility and treason while our men are at war, not just the voicing of "their political views."

He says, "My father ran for congress last year. I couldn't campaign for him and I knew I couldn't, because I'd hurt him. They tried to get me to get on the John Kerry train and I said, 'We'll hurt him. They'll use us as 'liberal'.' Now, I would argue that (throughout) American history, it's pretty hard to find a time when liberals were on the wrong side of an issue. We thought that the conservative view was, 'Witches should be burned at the stake.' Moderate view was: 'Well, just in case,' and the liberal view was, 'There's no such thing as witches.' We thought women should be able to vote and blacks should be allowed to sit at the front of the bus and Vietnam was wrong. We haven't really been on a lot of wrong sides for us to be sort of used as this bad word. But we hurt candidates right now, so we can do fundraisers quietly and make some money. But I think it's dangerous to get up and talk about it."
Hmmm, I would say it is pretty hard to find a time when liberals have been on the right side of an issue: slavery, segregation, abortion, the sanctity of marriage, etc., etc., etc.

Clooney's "witch" example is rather ridiculous. Back when witches were being burned at the stake, most people were all for doing so. And, since there were (and are) people who believed themselves to be witches, then I guess "the liberal view" saying " 'There's no such thing as witches' " just proves how out of touch with reality liberals are.

If one wants to really work with the "witch" example, then one ought to remember that people accused witches and gave evidence during trials, as in the Salem Witch Trials.

Of course, those trials began because of a "witch" named Tituba and some girls who began falsely accusing others. That's right, they lied.

And we all know liars belong to the Liberal aka Democrat Party.

As for the charge of Republicans being on the wrong side of segregation, perhaps George should remember which party Abraham Lincoln was a member of. Further, the Republicans Dems most often accuse of being racist segregationists were members of the Democrat Party during the period of segregation.

The question of whether or not Vietnam was wrong depends upon whether or not one is a Communist or not. We Republicans aren't big fans of Communism (unlike the Libs), so obviously fighting against it's spread was (and still is) the right thing to do.

I would rather be what Liberals consider wrong than what they consider right. At least the Bible is on our side.

The arrogance of LIBS is always breath-taking.
