I'm also a usually quiet, reserved Lady, who enjoys books, tea, baking, and movies! I spend most of my time reading one of my favorite books or wishing I was reading my favorite books. My Grand Passion is history, particularly the Regency Period in England, when Jane Austen wrote, Lord Nelson defeated the French Fleet at Trafalgar, the Duke of Wellington defeated Napoleon, and men were Gentlemen and women Ladies. I cherish the thought of being a Lady and love manners, being proper, and having proper tea. My favorite tea is Twinings, especially Earl Grey or Prince of Wales. My specialty to make is Scones with Devon Cream. I am a Catholic and a Conservative.

"Lost in Translation"

Warren Bell found a great timewaster and posted it on The Corner.

It is called "Lost in Translation." Put a sentence in. Press the button and:

The resulting half-English, half-foreign, and totally non sequitur response bears almost no resemblance to the original.
Rather amusing.

You can find it here.

Here is an example. I put in the sentence "Liberals are complete idiots."

These are the translations:

Original English Text:
Liberals are complete idiots.

Translated to French:
Les libéraux sont les idiots complets.

Translated back to English:
The liberals are the complete idiots.

Translated to German:
Die Liberalen sind die kompletten Idioten.

Translated back to English:
The liberals are the complete idiots.

Translated to Italian:
I liberali sono i idiots completi.

Translated back to English:
The liberal ones are the idiots complete.

Translated to Portuguese:
Liberais são os idiots completos.

Translated back to English:
Liberal they are idiots full.

Translated to Spanish:
Liberal son idiotas por completo.

Translated back to English:
Liberal they are stupid completely.
Really, it makes complete sense.
