I'm also a usually quiet, reserved Lady, who enjoys books, tea, baking, and movies! I spend most of my time reading one of my favorite books or wishing I was reading my favorite books. My Grand Passion is history, particularly the Regency Period in England, when Jane Austen wrote, Lord Nelson defeated the French Fleet at Trafalgar, the Duke of Wellington defeated Napoleon, and men were Gentlemen and women Ladies. I cherish the thought of being a Lady and love manners, being proper, and having proper tea. My favorite tea is Twinings, especially Earl Grey or Prince of Wales. My specialty to make is Scones with Devon Cream. I am a Catholic and a Conservative.

Hurricane Katrina: Blogging for Relief Day 5

Today is the fifth and final day of Blogging for Relief. If you haven't yet donated to the relief efforts, please do so.

You can read the total raised by the bloggers, log your contribution, and see a list of other blogs that took part in Blogging for Relief here at TTLB. You can also find more about Blogging for Relief at Instapundit.

I recommend giving to Catholic Charities. New Orleans is a very Catholic city. They will need lots of money to rebuild the churches, church buildings, Catholic schools, and convents.

Even if you can only donate a small amount, ever little bit helps. Skip a morning chai tea and scone. Don't rent a new dvd; watch one you already own. Instead of buying a sandwich, make one at home. Instead of going to a movie, take a book to the park. Donate the money you would have used to the relief effort.

There are thousands upon thousands of people without food, water, clothing, transportation, homes, jobs, and everything else that makes a life. They need our help to reclaim their futures.

Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama are not going to be cleaned up in a matter of days or weeks, or probably even months. It might be years before the Big Easy is back. It might be years before all those people are able to live in their own homes, in their own towns, once again.

Please donate and keep praying. Thank you and God bless!
