I'm also a usually quiet, reserved Lady, who enjoys books, tea, baking, and movies! I spend most of my time reading one of my favorite books or wishing I was reading my favorite books. My Grand Passion is history, particularly the Regency Period in England, when Jane Austen wrote, Lord Nelson defeated the French Fleet at Trafalgar, the Duke of Wellington defeated Napoleon, and men were Gentlemen and women Ladies. I cherish the thought of being a Lady and love manners, being proper, and having proper tea. My favorite tea is Twinings, especially Earl Grey or Prince of Wales. My specialty to make is Scones with Devon Cream. I am a Catholic and a Conservative.

"Even the high and the haughty"

You have to love Capitol Police Chief Terrance Gainer for standing up and speaking the truth, even in the face of a crazy congresswoman.

CNN: Chief: McKinney should have avoided confrontation---

(CNN) -- U.S. Rep. Cynthia McKinney on Wednesday deflected questions about a confrontation with a police officer in a House office building, while the chief of the Capitol Police said the lawmaker should have avoided the incident.

McKinney, a Democrat from suburban Atlanta, didn't stop at an officer's request last week, then turned around and hit him after he reached out and grabbed her, said Capitol Police Chief Terrance Gainer.

"Even the high and the haughty" should be able to stop and identify themselves as members of Congress if confronted at a security checkpoint, Gainer said. "The response is not to hit a police officer."
It is absolutely not alright to hit a police officer. Is this the type of person who ought to be serving in the United States Congress? Someone who does not understand or appreciate the authority of an officer of the law? If she will not follow simple safety procedures, such as presenting ID to people tasked with the job of keeping lawmakers safe, then why should anyone be expected to follow laws she supports?

This just underscores the idea that the Democrat Party is weak on Crime and Terror, and will not support the officers (Police and Military) who seek to protect us. The Dems prefer to side with the criminals, with the terrorists, and abuse and berate those are trying to keep the criminals and the terrorists out. Absolutely unbelievable.

Michelle Malkin's newest column is The party of police-haters (and more here). Very sad, but true. The people who protect members of Congress and allow them to go about ruining the nation are hated by a portion of those members. Instead of, "thanks for standing guard while I pretend to be doing good for the United States," these Dems call the police racists, accuse them of "inappropriately touching" someone (aka taking someone's arm to prevent her from fleeing the scene), and all sorts of ugly things. I wouldn't blame the Capitol Police if they some day declined to protect Cynthia McKinney and the like, though I am sure they (meaning the Capitol Police, not Cynthia McKinney and friends) are too honorable to to that.

Expose the Left has more:
DeLay: “McKinney Is a Racist”, “Everything Is Racism With Her” Tom DeLay was on Fox & Friends this morning and laid it out there. Good for him. (Video here.)

CNN's Soledad O'Brien was actually tough on McKinney (read the above CNN article). Very surprising. Expose the Left has the video.

Cynthia McKinney wants to make this all about racism. It isn't. This is about security.

The truth of the matter is that "even the high and the haughty" are endangered by terrorism. If "the high and the haughty" refuse to allow the police and military to do what they need to do to keep us safe, then we ought to vote them out of office. We only need people who are 100% committed to keeping us safe in Congress.

So, "High and Haughty" Cynthia, time to leave.
