A Lady's Ruminations

"Jane was firm where she felt herself to be right." -Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice

Name:
Location: United States

I'm also a usually quiet, reserved Lady, who enjoys books, tea, baking, and movies! I spend most of my time reading one of my favorite books or wishing I was reading my favorite books. My Grand Passion is history, particularly the Regency Period in England, when Jane Austen wrote, Lord Nelson defeated the French Fleet at Trafalgar, the Duke of Wellington defeated Napoleon, and men were Gentlemen and women Ladies. I cherish the thought of being a Lady and love manners, being proper, and having proper tea. My favorite tea is Twinings, especially Earl Grey or Prince of Wales. My specialty to make is Scones with Devon Cream. I am a Catholic and a Conservative.

How about some tolerance?

The Arab Street is inflamed over something.

No, not the homicide bombings of innocents in crowded malls and streets.

No, not the beheadings of innocent businessmen and contractors.

No, not the flying of planes full of innocents into majestic buildings full of more innocents.

The Arab Street is inflamed over a few cartoons.

They say the cartoons are blasphemous.

And brutally murdering people isn't a sin against God?

Muslims have been responsible for some of the most heinous acts in years and years and years.

MUSLIMS blow themselves and others up in crowded malls and streets.

MUSLIMS behead innocent businessmen and contractors and then show the videos to the world.

MUSLIMS fly planes full of innocent people purposefully into skyscrapers full of more innocents who are busy making the economies of the world run smoothly.

And yet, Muslims completely freak out when someone draws an accurate cartoon detailing exactly what Muslims have been doing.

How about some tolerance?

Many people in the West are all about "tolerance." It's their god. Not only do they say (doing is another thing) they are the epitome of tolerance, but they intolerantly demand everyone else practice their type of tolerance.

And yet, here we have Militant Islamists who demand everyone fall in with their narrow, primitive way of life and the Tolerance People are all excuses for them.

One would expect the Tolerance People to demand Islamists get into the modern world and stop bashing and murdering gays, stop forcing women to cover themselves head to toe and never drive cars, stop disallowing people to view pornography, and all those other things.

But, no. The Tolerance People think that WE, the other people of the West, who practice true Christianity, are the problem. WE are oppressing the Muslims. We are forcing them to accept our depraved lifestyles (never mind that the Tolerance People are the ones who like depravity: homosexuality, pornography, abortion, promiscuity, etc., etc., etc.). They don't care that the MUSLIMS are the ones who oppress other Muslims, women, and all the others the Tolerance People so often accuse Conservatives of trying to take rights away from.

So now we have a great Muslim uprising against some little drawings published in some papers. The artists spilt not one drop of blood (unless they got paper cuts) while doing this works. Militant Islamists can't take an airplane ride or a walk through a mall without spilling lots and lots of blood.

This uproar over some editorial cartoons shows us just how insane and fanatical these people are. They won't allow anyone to exercise his free speech. They won't allow anyone to criticize their bloody, murdering religion. It isn't a religion of peace. It isn't a religion of tolerance. These people want us "Infidels" to die, die, die, so they can run the world, like they tried to do centuries ago (a time they appear to be stuck in).

This is not acceptable. If we do not fight the Islamist "agenda," then we will fall prey next. They play by no rules of war. They don't follow the Geneva Convention. They don't care how many "innocents" get maimed, mutilated, and murdered.

This is a war to end all wars. If they are willing to riot and wreak havoc over some cartoons, imagine what else they will blow up over. Soon, anyone who simply voices opposition will be targeted.

We do not want to live in this manner, so we better be willing to do something about it. Enough tolerance for this type of behavior. We cannot be appeasers and allow a new Nazi-like regime to take over the World.

We must fight.

AP: Syrians Storm Embassies Over Caricatures (shouting "Allah Akbar," no less. Sounds familiar. I believe the 9/11 terrorists, etc., used the same words?)

Arab News: ‘Cartoons Infused Muslims With a Spirit of Defiance’---

Egyptian cleric Youssef Al-Qaradawi, told worshippers in Qatar: “The whole nation must be angry and rise up to show their anger... Anger is a must, we are not a nation of donkeys. We are a nation of lions.”

Washington yesterday condemned the caricatures. “These cartoons are indeed offensive to the belief of Muslims,” State Department spokesman Kurtis Cooper said in answer to a question. “We all fully recognize and respect freedom of the press and expression but it must be coupled with press responsibility. Inciting religious or ethnic hatreds in this manner is not acceptable.”
Way to go, Cooper. Appeaser.

Reuters: Syrians torch Danish, Norway embassies over cartoon---

Chanting "God is Greatest," the protesters stormed the embassy; threw stones and shattered its windows; burned the national flag and replaced it with another flag reading "No God but Allah, Mohammad is His Prophet."
UK Telegraph: America backs Muslims over cartoons as thousands voice anger worldwide---

America sided with tens of thousands of Muslims who protested worldwide yesterday about cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed published in European newspapers.

In its first comment on the furore, the State Department said: "These cartoons are indeed offensive to the belief of Muslims."

Answering a reporter's question, its spokesman, Kurtis Cooper, said: "We all fully respect freedom of the press and expression but it must be coupled with press responsibility. Inciting religious or ethnic hatred in this manner is not acceptable."

Crowds of Muslims answered calls for "an international day of anger" over the cartoons - one showing Mohammed with a turban in the shape of a bomb - which were first published in Denmark last September.

About 10,000 demonstrators, including Hamas gunmen firing in the air, marched through Gaza City to the Palestinian legislature, where they climbed on to the roof and waved Hamas banners.

"We are ready to redeem you with our souls and our blood, our beloved Prophet," they chanted. "Down, down Denmark."
Don't count me as one of those "Americans' who side with the Muslims on this. Mohammed was no Dali Lhama or Ghandi or Mother Theresa.

Michelle Malkin has had lots of coverage on this topic. She posted on DON'T FORGET: BUY DANISH! and made a little film FIRST, THEY CAME: THE MOVIE (I recommend watching it. It's chilling.), not to mention all her other posts. She includes a long list of Danish products to buy, other blogs with Support Denmark campaigns, and lots, lots more.
