A Lady's Ruminations

Location: United States

I'm also a usually quiet, reserved Lady, who enjoys books, tea, baking, and movies! I spend most of my time reading one of my favorite books or wishing I was reading my favorite books. My Grand Passion is history, particularly the Regency Period in England, when Jane Austen wrote, Lord Nelson defeated the French Fleet at Trafalgar, the Duke of Wellington defeated Napoleon, and men were Gentlemen and women Ladies. I cherish the thought of being a Lady and love manners, being proper, and having proper tea. My favorite tea is Twinings, especially Earl Grey or Prince of Wales. My specialty to make is Scones with Devon Cream. I am a Catholic and a Conservative.

Camp Katrina

Have a look at this great blog called Camp Katrina. It was begun (and is written) by Spc. Phil Van Treuren, of the Ohio Army National Guard, JAG Corps, and friends, about the humanitarian efforts of the U.S. Military in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Spc. Van Treuren was mobilized to the disaster zone.

You can visit it here.

Camp Katrina's motto is "Proving that the United States military does more than just kill people and break things."

Camp Katrina is humourous, sharp, and a great way to actually read the great stories about our military (those stories the media doesn't like to tell). I hope you take a look at Camp Katrina. I am looking forward to reading it!
