A Lady's Ruminations

Location: United States

I'm also a usually quiet, reserved Lady, who enjoys books, tea, baking, and movies! I spend most of my time reading one of my favorite books or wishing I was reading my favorite books. My Grand Passion is history, particularly the Regency Period in England, when Jane Austen wrote, Lord Nelson defeated the French Fleet at Trafalgar, the Duke of Wellington defeated Napoleon, and men were Gentlemen and women Ladies. I cherish the thought of being a Lady and love manners, being proper, and having proper tea. My favorite tea is Twinings, especially Earl Grey or Prince of Wales. My specialty to make is Scones with Devon Cream. I am a Catholic and a Conservative.

Without One, there is no Other

There is only one true and absolute right, and that is the right to life. Without it, there are no other rights.

Without life, you have no need, obviously, for a right to freedom, a right to the "pursuit of happiness," etc., etc., etc.

Without life, you don't even have the (made up) right to abortion.

Yet, now, out of New Zealand, we have news that Amnesty International is possibly seeking to declare abortion as a human right.

You can read the entire press release from Right to Life New Zealand here.

At the recent Amnesty International International Council meeting in Mexico a remit motion seeking to declare abortion a human right was discussed. In their latest "Freedom Letter" it is noted that Amnesty International was consulting world-wide on this issue.
One cannot have a right to life and a right to be aborted at the same time. This is an either-or thing.

Of course, this goes beyond Amnesty International, to any decisions by any states (or, as in the United States' case, unelected judges in a judicial fiat) have made allowing abortion.

To declare abortion as a right, and allow abortions, disallows the right to life of those babies whose horrid "mothers" (for lack of a better term) to murder them.

So, those who are aborted have been deprived of their rights to life, in order that the women who murdered them have the right to abortion.

Yet, in their essence, rights cannot be "done" for another. No one can live life for another. No one can be free for another.

So, it follows that no one can have the right to abortion for another.

Taking another's life, without due cause (and according to our laws, a guilty verdict from a jury of one's peers, following a trial), is murder.

Therefore, without asking the babies if they would prefer to be killed and have their brains sucked out and their limbs sucked off or life, one is committing murder.

Abortion is not a human right, any more than walking on the moon is.

And without life, there is no walking on the moon.
