I'm also a usually quiet, reserved Lady, who enjoys books, tea, baking, and movies! I spend most of my time reading one of my favorite books or wishing I was reading my favorite books. My Grand Passion is history, particularly the Regency Period in England, when Jane Austen wrote, Lord Nelson defeated the French Fleet at Trafalgar, the Duke of Wellington defeated Napoleon, and men were Gentlemen and women Ladies. I cherish the thought of being a Lady and love manners, being proper, and having proper tea. My favorite tea is Twinings, especially Earl Grey or Prince of Wales. My specialty to make is Scones with Devon Cream. I am a Catholic and a Conservative.

A Wacko Outside the White House

No, not John Kerry, angry that he failed in his attempt to gain the presidency.

Cindy Sheehan had her little protest outside the White House. I posted about her plans here.

Apparently, Cindy did her thing on Wednesday, 26 October. A Reuters photo from the day is headlined, quite stupidly, Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan walks past White House in Washington.

Though I have never been there, I am pretty sure people walk past the White House every day. There is nothing special about Cindy Sheehan doing so, other than that she's wacko.

Her small group of "supporters" includes Gold Star families, part of her "Gold Star Families for Peace" group, but not all Gold Star families believe in what Cindy is doing.

Here is a press release from some of those who oppose her: Cindy Sheehan's Latest Publicity Stunt at White House Denounced by Gold Star Parents and Military Families---

"We, the parents and family members of soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines who have served and given their lives defending America in Operation Iraqi Freedom are thoroughly disgusted with Cindy Sheehan and her publicity stunts.

"We are angered that Mrs. Sheehan is once again using our fallen loved ones against our wishes to undermine the cause they voluntarily gave their lives for. Her macabre die-ins in front of the White House do not honor the dead nor do they help the living -- they give encouragement to Al Qaeda to keep killing Americans until we surrender.

"Mrs. Sheehan is offering souvenir bracelets with our loved ones' names on them as bonuses to those who join her in the die-ins at the White House. Her continued abuse of our loved ones makes our blood boil and we demand that she stop trivializing their sacrifices with her tawdry acts.

"We know that Mrs. Sheehan and her allies are not peace activists. She herself has called terrorists fighting for Al Qaeda in Iraq 'freedom fighters'. The groups she works with have openly expressed their support for the terrorists and their contempt for this country. She and they are working to bring about the defeat of America in the war on terror.

"We support our country, we support the war on terror and we honor our loved ones' service."

The MSM has largely abandoned following Cindy Sheehan's every breath, as evidenced by the lack of frontpage stories about her "protest," at least when compared to the media circus that followed and surrounded her in August.

Here is an AP story about her newest arrest. Apparently they had a "die-in" in front of the White House.

One of her little buddies even had this to say about good old Cindy:

Ann Wilcox, a protestor with the anti-war group Code Pink, called Sheehan "the Rosa Parks of our movement."
Just a little overboard, there.

Michelle Malkin has more.
