I'm also a usually quiet, reserved Lady, who enjoys books, tea, baking, and movies! I spend most of my time reading one of my favorite books or wishing I was reading my favorite books. My Grand Passion is history, particularly the Regency Period in England, when Jane Austen wrote, Lord Nelson defeated the French Fleet at Trafalgar, the Duke of Wellington defeated Napoleon, and men were Gentlemen and women Ladies. I cherish the thought of being a Lady and love manners, being proper, and having proper tea. My favorite tea is Twinings, especially Earl Grey or Prince of Wales. My specialty to make is Scones with Devon Cream. I am a Catholic and a Conservative.

Judith Miller Goes to Jail

New York Times reporter Judith Miller has refused a Grand Jury's request to give up a source in the investigation into the leak of Valerie Plame's CIA "cover." Miller is going to jail, where all New York Times reporters belong.

I saw some of her lawyer's press conference on Fox News. He was blathering on about this being "draconian" and other crap.

The First Amendment gives freedom to the press, but that does not mean the press has the right to do whatever it wants. Can the press murder someone just so they can write about the effects murder has? No. Can the press break into private homes or businesses just for a story? No. Can the press have access to classified plans and files? Should be no. (Though, considering Clinton giving China our nuclear secrets, this sort of thing is far less dangerous)

The press has no right to access to government officials, documents, secrets, or plans. We the People have the right to access to government officials. The job of the press is to report what is going on, not make the news.

The Mainstream Media is out of control. Newsmakers (formerly known as "reporters") think they can do whatever they want in the name of the free press. They seem to believe they are outside the law. I, for one, am tired of it and glad to see a reporter being told to follow the law.
