Location: United States

I'm also a usually quiet, reserved Lady, who enjoys books, tea, baking, and movies! I spend most of my time reading one of my favorite books or wishing I was reading my favorite books. My Grand Passion is history, particularly the Regency Period in England, when Jane Austen wrote, Lord Nelson defeated the French Fleet at Trafalgar, the Duke of Wellington defeated Napoleon, and men were Gentlemen and women Ladies. I cherish the thought of being a Lady and love manners, being proper, and having proper tea. My favorite tea is Twinings, especially Earl Grey or Prince of Wales. My specialty to make is Scones with Devon Cream. I am a Catholic and a Conservative.

Mitt Romney's Abortion Stance

So, Mitt Romney is personally against abortion, but he doesn't want to go into details about exactly what he thinks. As the Yahoo article says, "A first-term Republican, Romney has said he personally opposes abortion but would do nothing to roll back abortion rights in Massachusetts as governor."

I get very angry when people (such as John Kerry) say they are personally opposed to abortion, but they dare not dictate what someone down the road can do or not. Well, I'm personally against slavery, but I can't tell John Doe down the road that he can't have slaves.

Is that really the type of society we want to have? "I'm personally opposed to this . . . but I can't tell you what to think or do." This could apply to everything. "I'm personally opposed to murder, but I can't tell Charles Manson not to do it." "I'm personally opposed to pedophilia, but I can't tell Michael Jackson not to do it." How can we even have a Justice System if we can't tell people what they can or cannot do?

Romney won't get my vote in 2008. He's not standing up for the most innocent of us, unborn children. Does he really think true Conservatives are going to buy his little "personally opposed, but won't object" lines? What would he say to the terrorists? "I'm personally opposed to your Jihad, but I'm not going to send troops out to stop you?" Thanks, but no thanks!
