RIP WFB

Sad news today that the founder of National Review and stalwart Conservative, William F. Buckley, has died at the age of 82.

NRO's The Corner has tons of tributes to WFB. (More news here.) And, a lot here.

And, of course, NRO has a ton of columns, articles, and tributes on the great man.

  • AN NRO SYMPOSIUM: Bill Bennett, Ward Connerly, Newt Gingrich, Charles Kesler, Roger Kimball, Kate O'Beirne, Mark Levin & more on WFB’s life and influence. WFB: A Celebration
  • CHARLES MURRAY:Utterly unpretentious, absorbed in whatever you had to say, he had the kind of manners that are so good that they cease being manners and become a warming aura. The Day I Met WFB
  • JOHN McCAIN: Bill was a great American who helped change the course of history. A Great American
  • RAMESH PONNURU: A treatise could probably be written about the role those eyes played in the making of modern America. Losing Bill
  • ANDY McCARTHY: Now my dad will get to meet him. Bill Buckley
  • MARK STEYN: “This is still Bill Buckley’s National Review, and it will always be Bill Buckley’s National Review.” Re: Saying Goodbye
  • PETE WEHNER: He was, perhaps above all, a good and faithful servant of the Lord.Farewell WFB
  • JONAH GOLDBERG: William F. Buckley’s life was marked by enormous joy.Saying Goodbye
And Rush's Remembrance of WFB

President Bush's statement to NRO and his response to some questions about WFB

My prayers are with his family and his NRO family and all Conservatives who mourn his loss and thank God for such a man.

R. Amen. R. Amen.
