I'm also a usually quiet, reserved Lady, who enjoys books, tea, baking, and movies! I spend most of my time reading one of my favorite books or wishing I was reading my favorite books. My Grand Passion is history, particularly the Regency Period in England, when Jane Austen wrote, Lord Nelson defeated the French Fleet at Trafalgar, the Duke of Wellington defeated Napoleon, and men were Gentlemen and women Ladies. I cherish the thought of being a Lady and love manners, being proper, and having proper tea. My favorite tea is Twinings, especially Earl Grey or Prince of Wales. My specialty to make is Scones with Devon Cream. I am a Catholic and a Conservative.

The Senate Y's Amnesty!

And they've done it! The Senate has passed the Amnesty that We the People are so against.

Thank you so much Senators. Do you enjoy your upcoming vacations! We're happy to find good men to replace you.

Senate passes immigration bill overhaul

Don't be fooled. This really isn't about immigration. We have plenty of immigration laws on the books. They just aren't enforced.

This is all about legitimatizing the illegal invaders. This is about stabbing the American People in the back.

The 62-36 vote cleared the way for arduous summertime compromise talks with the House on its version that focuses on border enforcement — with no guarantee of success.

"Why not say to those undocumented workers who are working the jobs that the rest of us refuse, come out from the shadows," said Arizona Republican John McCain, a key architect of the bill.
What complete BS! These people are not "undocumented workers;" that's code for ILLEGAL ALIEN. And they aren't in the shadows. Where was McCain when the illegals decided to march through our streets, waving Mexican flags, burning American flags, and acting generally disgusting?

What about OUR rights?
The legislation includes money to better secure the borders, provide a new guest worker program and give an eventual shot at citizenship to many of the estimated 11 million to 12 million immigrants in the country illegally.

The bill "strengthens our security and reflects our humanity," said Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass., McCain's partner in Senate compromise. "It is intended to keep out those who would harm us and welcome those who contribute to our country."
Blah, blah, blah. How can it keep out those who will harm us? They might already be here and will receive amnesty along with the rest. Teddy has apparently missed all the stories (well, at least the ones the MSM deigns to report) of illegal aliens murdering American citizens, raping, robbing, and all the gang activity? Of course, Teddy prefers to ignore murder in his own life, so really, no wonder.

Conservative critics attacked the legislation to the end after trying unsuccessfully to pull it apart with amendments.

"This bill will not secure our borders," said Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., one of the most persistent critics.

"This is amnesty," added David Vitter, R-La., who tried last week to strip out provisions relating to citizenship.
Thank God for some real men!

Not so, said Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., chairman of the Judiciary Committee, in a rebuttal to weeks of debate. "They have to pay a fine. They have to undergo a criminal background check. They have to pay back taxes, they have to learn English and they have to go to the back of the line," he said, referring to illegal immigrants who would apply for citizenship.
Whatever, whatever, whatever. Why will these illegal aliens do any of these things, when they haven't done any of the things already in our laws? They weren't supposed to cross the border illegally, but they did. They aren't supposed to work here, but they do. They aren't supposed to put their children in our schools, use our medical facilities, or receive any government benefits, but they do.

They don't learn English. They don't care to. They don't want to be Americans. They just want our money. They really won't have to do any of those things and the government has already declined enforcing our existing laws, so why should we think new ones will be enforced? Take a look here. There are flaws in each of Specter's little "points."

And regardless of whether illegal aliens do all those things (which they won't), the fact of the matter is that these people are HERE ILLEGALLY. They have NO RIGHT to AMERICAN CITIZENSHIP. They ought to be deported as fast as possible, not given a reward.
