I'm also a usually quiet, reserved Lady, who enjoys books, tea, baking, and movies! I spend most of my time reading one of my favorite books or wishing I was reading my favorite books. My Grand Passion is history, particularly the Regency Period in England, when Jane Austen wrote, Lord Nelson defeated the French Fleet at Trafalgar, the Duke of Wellington defeated Napoleon, and men were Gentlemen and women Ladies. I cherish the thought of being a Lady and love manners, being proper, and having proper tea. My favorite tea is Twinings, especially Earl Grey or Prince of Wales. My specialty to make is Scones with Devon Cream. I am a Catholic and a Conservative.

Gimme, Gimme, Gimme

I was just watching Fox News and they were showing Louisiana's pathetic governor Kathleen Blanco (D) giving a press conference.

I really only heard bits and pieces, since I was in and out of the room, but what I heard made me really mad.

Blanco was asking that President Bush waive some regulation so that FEMA could pay the salaries of New Orleans police and firemen. Isn't that the city's responsibility? And if the city cannot do it, then why isn't the state of Louisiana?

Then, she asked that FEMA get to work finding better housing for refugees, so they could get out of the shelters. She wants FEMA to hurry up and buy hotels and buildings to provide housing. Why should FEMA buy hotels and buildings? Shouldn't people find their own permanent housing?

If my house burns down, FEMA isn't going to buy me a new one. That's my responsibility.

Hopefully there will be a transcript soon.
